This is my way to recycle and save money on packaging. I also do the mini jewelry boxes out of cereal/food packaging because it is so sturdy and will keep my paintings safe during the postal process.
I've been doing the same to make gift boxes for friends' birthdays. I try to find the weirdest boxes in my possession to, of course, cause the most embarrassment possible.
I have done this with cereal (cracker, cookie, various snack) boxes too! I don't do quite so much work though, just flatten them and tape them up, hehe. The people at the post office love it when I bring one to ship!! :)
